Heartful Minds was founded by licensed mental health professional Amaal Sheikhadan, LMSW, QMHP, in response to the growing and often unspoken need for accessible mental health support and education within our community.
Drawing on her experience in crisis intervention, therapeutic care, substance use support, and domestic violence response, Amaal envisioned Heartful Minds as a space where professional care and faith-based understanding could exist together.
To provide a safe and trusted space for our community to openly explore mental health, access practical resources, and receive care that honors both faith and lived experience. We are committed to breaking stigma and offering education that quips individuals to recognize early signs of mental health challenges, care for their emotional well-being, and engage in conversations about mental wellness with confidence.
Our goal is to foster a culture where seeking help is supported, encouraged, and normalized.
We envision a community where mental health is recognized as an essential part of overall well-being where discussions about depression, trauma, substance use, and other challenges are met with care and understanding rather than silence.
We aim to build a future where individuals have access to support early, stigma no longer prevents anyone from reaching out, and mental wellness is embraced as a shared responsibility.
Heartful Minds approaches mental wellness through education, movement, and connection, creating spaces that bring together learning, reflection, and support.
Our programs and partnerships are designed to bridge professional mental health care with the values and strengths of our faith, helping our community grow in understanding, resilience, and collective care.
